SPRING IS HERE AT INDIAN LAKE!
Its finally starting to look like Spring again at Indian Lake. Snow is gone and the lake is nearly thawed out. With all the precipitation the area has received the lake level is at an all time high. Soon lake residents will begin Spring clean up getting ready for another fun summer on Indian Lake! Don't forget the water toys they need seasonal maintenance checks as well as a good wash and wax.
PWC tip of the week: If you're still running a two-stroke ski its a very good idea to run 50/50 gas/oil mix in the tank even after break-in. This will not only ensure proper lubrication should your oil injector fail but will help prolong engine life.
Check out the "Events" button for upcoming events being held on area lakes in southwest Michigan.
Although the first day of Winter is December 21st, Indian Lake has already experienced the first snowfall. Parts of the Midwest from Iowa to Michigan saw their first snow over last weekend, and it was a big one — the second-largest November snowstorm in Chicago since records began in 1884, and the snowiest first storm of the season.
If you have not already done so its time to get the winter toys ready for another season. Whether you enjoy snowshoeing, cross country skiing or snowmobiling there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the winter at Indian Lake.
For those who enjoy snowmobiling there are hundreds of marked and groomed trails to take advantage of. Trail Reports for Michigan can be found HERE. Trails open up officially December 1st, in the meantime here are a couple of videos from rides in 2014, Indian Lake Ride, UP Ride.
The great news is Indian Lake fun will continue whether you're a snowmobiler, hiker or craft brew or wine fan. Speaking of craft brews and wine the state of Michigan is exploding with new brewery's and winery's popping up all over Southwest Michigan. If you have not checked out Cultivate Brewery, Dablon Vineards & Winery or Tapistry Brewery, to name a few, make it a point to visit. You wont be disappointed!
